Interesting article about how medical expenses play a role in 62% of bankruptcy filings. I think this percentage will increase significantly once the number of bankruptcies filed during the recession are counted. Something needs to be done, but what??

  1. isn't this incredible? I think this is one of the best arguments for the single payer system. no one in Canada has to decide between medication or food.

  2. It really is a sad state of affairs when folks lose everything because of medical bills. Even great health insurance has a cap. And the low cost insurances sound good but there is up to a 2 year wait list, after you apply. What good will that do you if your sick right now?
