Chrysler also in bankruptcy

crazy times. NPR did a lot of stories on the GM and Chrysler bankruptcies and talked about how Ford was essentially now competing with 2 public entities.

GM is over 60% public owned and it is expected that they will be forced to be more responsive to their public owners than to the consumer. other points that were made were that the way we travel and commute is also being reformed so the market that these new car companies emerge into is going to be very different as people start using more mass transportation, live closer to work and/or work from home.

i for one havent bought a car in 5 years and dont intend on buying one anytime soon but keeping my cars running as long as possible. I work from home as often as possible although the suburbs have an extreme dearth of mass transit options
