Obama to sign anti-smoking bill in Rose Garden

  1. It will be interesting to see the numbers in 1, 2, and 5 years from now regarding sales.

    Obviously with the heavy taxes levied on tobacco users, the industry is a prized cash-cow for the government.

    To offset the growing number of people reducing their use, or switching to cheaper products, the taxes have consistently increased (I think another increase is about to happen).

    How will the FDA's authority change the tobacco industry?

    How far will sales drop?

    How will this ease the cost of healthcare in regards to treatments caused by tobacco in the next decade?

  2. I'm amazed at the price of cigarettes! I dont understand how people can afford it...I mean I like a cup of coffee from Starbucks now and then but smoking a pack a day now is like having a coffee every day. my wife would shoot me :)
