You can't put a price on a family vacation. Spending time with your family is "Priceless". If you can not afford to go on a trip, there are plently of local parks around to have a family picnic for the day. Some parks even offer "Free" concerts and since it is the summer, check your local paper for the entertainment section. There is always something going on that doesn't cost money. I hope eveyone has a great summer.

  1. I'm going camping with the boy scouts :(

I'm more worried about taking the time away from my job in this economy than I am about the price of gas!

  2. Interesting...recently on the news there was a family being interviewed about how the recession was affecting their future travel plans. Every year, the entire family (aprox. 15-20 people) vacation's together by going on a camping trip somewhere in the United States. They needed to cut the cost of the trip. So what they decided to do was camp out at one of the family members homes. Their backyard consisted of a large wooded area. They made an area in the woods, pitched tents and cooked over an open fire pit. They said they had a blast and it cost next to nothing. A little creativity goes a long way!
