I went to Vegas about 4 years ago and was ableto visit the FAO Schwartz store and it was really cool. I could see being a kid and having a blast there. I was having a ball myself as an adult. I only hope that the store can stay open for years to come. I would love to go back to Vegas with my daughter who is only 18 months right now. I'll have to take a trip to N.Y.
You hope that a corporation like Toys-R-Us can continue to keep an icon like FAO Schwarts alive with the same character that is has had for years. Chains like Walmart are hard to compete with and with the ecomony the way it is more companies may see the same fate.
I hope this helps FAO Schwartz stay afloat because I loved that place as a kid and like Lisa, plan to take my children there once I have any. Plus, it gave us the scene from Big with Tom Hanks where he played the giant keyboard on the floor, so to have a place like this go under would just be devastating.
